IPA Parachuting cup will take place during the forthcoming weekend (13-15.11) at Lisiciji Jarak airport in Belgrade. About 50 parachutists from Serbia will take part in this competition. During two days they will attempt to perform as many jumps as they can in order to achieve the greatest results.
The competition represents the second part of the IPA Adriatic EU programme project, entitled CAN (Aeronautical cross-border cooperation). Within this project we have completed the procurement of the airplanes and vehicles for the search and rescue service, organization of the paragliding competition in Vrsac, while fencing of the sport airport Lisiciji Jarak is still in progress. Along with these investments, throughout the realization of these competitions we are making efforts to support the improvement of the aeronautical sport in Serbia. – stated Zeljko Ovuka, general secretary of the Aeronautical Union of Serbia.
Along with the performance of parachuting jumps, the performance of rescue and search training is scheduled, as well as the demonstration of ultralight aircraft reconnaissance in states of emergency such as floods, fires and earthquakes. During the training, the possibility of including the parachutist within the search and rescue service will be demonstrated, i.e. their landing at the place of accident and giving the first aid at the scene of action. Mountain rescue service will demonstrate a tandem jump which will give the first aid until the rest of the crew arrives.
The organizer of the competition is the Aeronautical union of Serbia, supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, while the entire competition, accommodation for the competitors, and training resources are financed from the pre-accession EU funds.
